Akira Japanese Steakhouse is a family-owned restaurant that opened on February 2007. We strive to give the best possible service and food. Currently, we are the only Japanese Steakhouse located in Plainfield, Indiana. Akira serves a variety of sushi, Japanese noodles, and gives you a fun experience at the hibachi table by cooking your main entrées teppanyaki style.
We are located on West Washington Street in front of Andy Mohr Ford and Andy Mohr Chevrolet in the strip mall called Plainfield Village. Stores that are located next to us are Kids Go Round, Mattress Gallery, and Select Staffing.
teppanyaki = a Japanese cuisine style in which an iron griddle, or hibachi, is used to cook the food
yakisoba = literally means "fried noodles," similar to ramen noodles and made from wheat flour, stir-fried prepared
maki sushi = rolled sushi, usually prepared with seaweed and vinegar-mixed rice
nigiri sushi = oblong mound of rice with ingredient, such as salmon, on top
sashimi = raw meat sliced by itself
tempura = soft, wheat flour that has been mixed with cold water and eggs; usually used to fry food, such as vegetables or shrimp, to create a Japanese dish
